A wonderful opportunity to walk the local landscape, collecting and reflecting on natural materials to use in a personalised craft or art piece. The craft work may be a mobile, wall hanging, small sculpture or sampler. In a beautiful rural area of the South Downs National Park we will spend half the session following footpaths, hedgerows, fields and woods, walking together to gather our materials. At this time of year we will look for plant materials to weave, coil, turn into cordage, and treasure.
There may be seed heads, leaves, lichens, feathers, barks, fleece and galls to decorate with. There may be berries, leaves, charcoal and soils to stain and colour with. Bring a sketch book or camera to capture ideas and moods. Back at Field Farm Project’s beautiful barn we can use our items and inspirations to explore, experiment and create. Tutors will have sample makes, ideas, tools, supplies and techniques to help guide you. This relaxed workshop is for beginners and those with making experience alike. Please wear suitable footwear and layers of outdoor clothing.

Please bring a packed lunch. Delicious cakes and biscuits together with hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the day to keep you fuelled up!
